With the Unleashed Your Ride contest organized by our partner Spotyride, we are able to achieve what we what we wanted for a while : a virtual challenge that gathers everyone of the world of wake ! Amateurs, professional riders, brands, spots, all will be able to express themselves thanks to this international photo contest. We explain it all in this article !

Who, where and how ?

Everybody can participate, no matter your age, your wake level or your photographer skills ! Just follow these three steps to compete :

PUBLISH a wake-related picture (wakeboard/wakeskate/wakesurf)

ADD the hashtag #UnleashedYourRide to the picture

LIKE the Spotyride page on Facebook or follow Spotyride’s account on Instagram

As an international game, three zones have been defined : North/South America, Europe/Africa et Asia/Océania. These areas have been chosen so that each continent have winners and receive rewards. But i see your globe trotter question coming : I live in the USA and I took a picture in the Philippines, in which area am I ? In fact, you can take photos wherever you want and as many times as you want, you will automatically be admitted in a particular zone depending on the profile completed on Facebook or Instagram.

Process

Here is the schedule of the contest :

1 August to 18 August at midnight = Pictures from the community will be shared on social media.

19 August to 21 August at midnight = Pre-selection of the 27 best pictures (3 per category) by the jury.

22 August to 26 August = Publication by SpotyRide of the pictures selected by the jury. Up to 6 pictures will be published per day.

22 August to 31 August = The community will vote through social media engagement.

1 September = 9 winners will be announced.

1 September to 4 September = Jury votes on the grand prizes

5 September = Winners of the grand prizes are announced

Juries

We discussed the fact that amateurs, spots and brands were an integral part of the challenge but professional riders ? It was decided to give them power by including them in the competition jury. For each zone, one or more professional riders will be a member of the jury and will judge the photos to make a pre-selection. So it is the professionals who will judge the participants ! Maybe your photo will be pre-selected by Daniel Grant or Dominik Henler… These professionals will judge the Best Trick and Insolite categories. The Spot category will be judged by the professionals of the Spotyride team, of course.

Finally, the final jury is… you ! After the pre-selection made by the two juries, the selected photos will be distributed on Spotyride’s social medias and the community will decide the winners of Best Trick, Spot and Unusual ! We will tell you how at the time. Then the Overall winner will be chosen by the professional juries.

Share until August 18

Real Wake, Driven by MasterCraft, is back for another year! Six of wakeboarding’s top competitors have submitted 90-second videos for a shot of X Games gold and glory. Watch the videos below and vote for your favorite. One vote per day (24-hour period), per browser is allowed, so make sure to return often to show your support. Voting ends at 9 a.m. ET on Monday, September 18.

The full, behind-the-scenes stories on the making of these videos will be broadcast in an hourlong “World of X Games: Real Wake 2017” special on ABC, airing Sunday, September 17, at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. Winners of the judge-awarded X Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be announced during the broadcast. The Fan Favorite winner will be announced on Monday, September 18, at 12 p.m. ET.

WOO WAKEPARK BATTLE 2017 : Mise en Service

Le WOO 2.0 prend en charge le Kiteboard, le Wakeboard et le Snowboard via la WOO Sports App.

L’application est maintenant disponible sur iOS et Android .

Création d’un compte WOO WAKE

Pour commencer à utiliser votre WOO, commencez par télécharger l’application sur votre téléphone ou votre tablette.

Sur iOS, téléchargez l’application WOO Sports .

Sur Android, téléchargez l’application WOO Sports .

Une fois l’application installée, ouvrez-la et cliquez sur Créer un nouveau compte. Saisissez votre nom, votre adresse e-mail et votre mot de passe .

Vous recevrez un e-mail confirmant votre compte, vérifiez alors votre boîte de réception pour vérifier que l’adresse électronique est bien la vôtre.

Pour compléter votre profil, cliquez sur les trois lignes en haut à gauche et cliquez sur votre nom. Ensuite, en haut à droite de l’écran, cliquez sur Modifier pour ajouter une image de profil, une photo de couverture, le genre, l’ anniversaire, le poids et le SPOT.

Aussi, dirigez-vous vers “Find Friends” pour commencer à suivre vos copains sur WOO Wake ! C’est beaucoup plus amusant de concourir avec vos amis !

Remarque: Grace à votre connexion, vous pouvez accéder à toutes les communautés de jeux WOO ( Kite / Wake / Snow ), et également au travers du l site WOOSPORTS , mais votre image de profil et vos informations correspondrons seulement à votre communauté .

Fixation du SENSOR

Chaque WOO est livré avec un support adhésif qui est utilisé pour attacher le capteur à votre carte.

Pour une précision maximale, le capteur doit être placé au centre de la planche avec le bord long parallèle au bord long de la planche:

Pour fixer le support:

Commencez par identifier le centre de votre BOARD Vous devez placer le support sur le centre de votre planche , en parallèle avec le rail.
Utilisez la serviette alcoolisée fournie pour nettoyer le centre de votre planche avant d’appliquer le support .
Retirez le support du WOO Mount et placez-le au centre de la BOARD . Appuyez fermement pour vous assurer qu’il est solidement attaché.
Pour de meilleurs résultats, laissez le montage séché une nuit avant de l’utiliser ou le laisser 1h en plein soleil

Nouveau pour Le 2.0 : Pour mesurer avec précision votre position – GOOFY OU REGULAR – le WOO doit avoir son bouton sur la droite!

Enregistrement de votre première session

Donc, vous voila prêt à faire le BUZZ avec votre nouveau WOO WAKE – génial!

Voici la liste de contrôle rapide pour vous assurer d’avoir une session parfaite:

1. Durant la Nuit

Chargez votre WOO avec le chargeur USB
Fixez le support au centre de votre board comme indiqué précédemment
Téléchargez l’application et configurez votre profil
Allumez votre WOO et appairez-le avec l’application. Vérifiez que tout est chargé et que vous étes bien en mode WAKE . Vérifiez le voyant LED sur le WOO ou connectez-vous à travers la section My WOO de l’application WOO Sports pour vérifier le mode dans quel mode est votre WOO .

2. Prêt à monter

Allumez le WOO et vérifiez que le mode est correct.
Attachez le WOO à votre BOARD avec le bouton d’alimentation vers votre pied droit.
Réglez votre WOO pour enregistrer la session en appuyant sur le bouton d’alimentation. La lumière passera sur Rouge clignotant .
GO RIDE !!! ( C’est parti)

Pour diviser votre session , vous pouvez arrêter et redémarrer votre WOO à tout moment en cliquant sur le bouton d’alimentation et le voyant passera du rouge au vert et vice versa .

3. Téléchargez votre session

Lorsque vous avez terminé votre session, arrêtez l’enregistrement en cliquant sur le bouton du WOO et assurez-vous que le WOO est en mode veille (lumière verte).

Sur votre téléphone, ouvrez l WOO Sports App, et accédez à la section My WOO dans le menu secondaire.
Connectez votre téléphone à votre WOO en cliquant sur Ajouter Nouveau WOO, puis cliquez sur et finissez en appuyant sur le bouton du WOO pour confirmer la connexion. .
Cliquez sur le bouton Télécharger les sessions et attendez que la session soit téléchargée depuis votre Sensor WOO.
Une fois téléchargé, cliquez sur le bouton “Sessions “pour enregistrer et sélectionnez la session que vous venez de faire.
Ajoutez le lieu ( spot) , la photo de la session et la description (incluez #WOOWAKEBATTLE pour créer un classement personnalisé! ), Ensuite téléchargé le dans votre profil! Une fois que vous tout enregistré avec succès, vous serez redirigé vers les détails de votre session pour examiner votre session et voir comment vous avez ridé !

GOOFY ou REGULAR sur WOO Wake ?

La première fois que vous vous connectez à WOO Wake, l’application vous demandera de sélectionner votre position ( Goofy ou regular ).

Le bouton d’alimentation doit toujours faire face à votre pied droit indépendamment de votre position.

Remarque:votre position est quelque chose que vous ne pouvez sélectionner qu’une fois, car les riders ne changent pas brusquement de position. Bien que votre position soit visible dans votre profil , vous ne pouvez pas la modifier.

Donc nous vous demandons de bien Matérialisé sur les sensors les positions à l’aide d’un MARQUEUR indélébile , G pour Goofy et R pour Regular si ce n’est pas les mêmes rideurs qui les utilisent

FAQ:

Comment puis-je passer en mode Wake?

Le mode Wake nécessite de ce connecter à la section Wake de l’application. Une fois que vous avez connecté votre WOO à votre téléphone, s’il a déjà été en mode Kite, il vous demandera de changer de mode ou de retourner à Kite, comme indiqué ci-dessous.

Comment fonctionne le système de notation Wake?

En mode Wake on affecte un score basé sur un certain nombre de facteurs suivant :

Rotations: la majeure partie de votre score proviendra du nombre et de la complexité des rotations que vous faites en l’air. Nous mesurons 3 axes de rotation et calculons les différents mouvements sur chaque axe .
Temps en l’air : un autre facteur important dans le processus de notation est votre temps en l’air – vous recevrez toujours un bonus si vous allez plus haut ! Si vous êtes en l’air pendant plus de 2,5 secondes, vous recevrez une meilleure note , mais il est très peu probable que tous les riders soient en l’air pendant cette période. Après 2,5 secondes, le score est entièrement basé sur la qualité de rotation et d’atterrissage
Atterrissage: votre atterrissage sera classé comme Crash, Sketchy, Good ou Stomped ( le mieux ) , WOO analyse la façon dont vous vous déplacez . Si vous lâchez le palonnier mais posez votre tricks , WOO le saura et il saura faire la différence au niveau de la notation !
Détection des figures : Vous recevrez un bonus si l’appareil enregistre le fait que vous avez bien effectué une figure ( Invert, roll ) . Cependant, vous recevrez un petit bonus WOO attribuera toujours un score plus élevé pour une figure plus grosse même si elle n’est pas encore catégorisée

Consultez également woosports.com/wake/tricktionary pour obtenir une liste des Tricks WOO peut reconnaître lorsque la figure est bien réalisée.

Pourquoi le WOO n’enregistre-t-il pas mes nouvelles Figures ?

De même que le kite freestyle, le Wake mode est conçu pour détecter des figures si elles sont effectuées correctement en fonction des riders professionnels qui les ont enregistrées . Nous savons que tout le monde ne fait pas tous le temps des rotations parfaites , donc nous avons créée une marge de clémence autour de chaque figures qui augmentera ou diminuera le score en fonction de l’exécution . Nous ne pouvons pas faire une détection trop laxiste sinon il y aura trop de chevauchement sur la prise en compte des figures ! On vous demandes donc d’être de vous rapprocher petit a petit de la figure parfaite .

Le WOO est conçu pour être un entraîneur virtuel qui vous aide à atteindre votre objectif de ride et une bonne exécution de vos figures.

Si vous faites un run, mais que rien ne s’affiche , il est probable qu’il y ait quelque chose avec votre technique d’exécution, alors on vous invites à chercher des vidéos de certains professionnels qui font la même figure afin de modifier la votre pour pouvoir la valider !

Une fois que le WOO détecte vos figures, vous pourrez voir que vous maitriser cette figure en suivant l’augmentation de votre score . Même si la figure n’est pas enregistrée, vous recevrez toujours un score final.

Obtiens-ton des points supplémentaires pour les Figures en Switch?

Oui! Les figures en Switch ont tendance à être un peu plus difficiles à faire , donc de fait vous obtiendrez un score plus élevé quant vous faites des Figures en Switch .

Votre profil WOO est votre base, avec vous pouvez voir et modifier la façon dont vous êtes vu au travers de la communauté WOO Wake.
Dans votre profil, vous pouvez voir vos scores Max, scores totaux, toutes vos séances et plus encore.

Votre “HOMESPOT” est l’endroit où vous ridez habituellement. Si vous ne trouvez pas votre “HOMESPOT”, consultez la rubrique Comment soumettre un nouveau lieu et nous nous assurerons d’ajouter votre “HOMESPOT” à la base de données WOO Spot.

Remarque: Bien que votre position soit visible dans votre profil , vous ne pouvez pas la modifier. Vous sélectionnez votre position la première fois que vous vous connectez à WOO Wake. Si vous avez choisi accidentellement la mauvaise position, n’hésitez pas à nous contacter à support@woosports.com.

Que signifient les chiffres sur Following et Followers?

Vos “followers” sont ceux qui vous suive reflété par le nombre de personnes qui vous suive, vos “following” est le nombres de personnes que vous suivez .

Lorsque vous suivez quelqu’un sur WOO en cliquant sur l’icône “following” sur le profil d’un autre utilisateur , cela signifie qu’ils apparaîtront dans Feed Feed et Leaderboard lors de l’application du filtre suivant à chaque reconnections .

Que signifient les statistiques dans Max Scores et Total Scores?

Les scores maximaux sont les résultats les plus élevés de tous les temps dans les trois paramètres principaux du mode WAKE

WOO Wake: Trick Score, Airtime et Session Score .

Les statistiques totales prennent toutes vos sessions sur WOO et vous donnent des statistiques de vie cumulatives pour ce mode:

WOO Wake: Score total, nombre de tricks différents et le temps passé dans l’eau …

Où puis-je trouver toutes mes sessions?

Si vous faites défiler votre profil, vous trouverez toutes vos sessions listées par ordre chronologique. Les sessions sont répertoriées en fonction de leur mode rétrospective. Vérifiez que vous êtes dans le bon mode ( Mode WAKE ) si vous ne trouvez pas l’une de vos sessions.

Comment puis-je appliquer un filtre?

Vous pouvez afficher l’activité dans la communauté (tout le monde), suivre (juste les riders que vous suivez sur WOO), ou vous pouvez sélectionner un continent, un pays ou un point spécifique pour filtrer le flux d’activité afin que vous ne voyiez que les sessions qui s’appliquent avec ce filtre sur. Vous pouvez également appliquer un hashtag (#) dans le cas de la WOO WAKE BATTLE le #woowakebattle , pour afficher uniquement les sessions qui ont ce hashtag dans leur description de session.

Il suffit de cliquer sur la barre de filtrage (configurée par défaut ) et de sélectionner comment vous souhaitez de personnalisé votre flux d’activités .

Si vous cliquez sur l’icône hashtag (#) dans le coin supérieur droit, vous pourrez appliquer un filtre hashtag au flux d’activité. La liste sous la barre de réception montre vos hashtags récemment utilisés et les hashtags les plus populaires pour vos paramètres actuels de filtre de communauté.

To kick things off OWC is hosting a weekend long WOO demo where you can rent the WOO for FREE and take part in daily contests to win awesome prizes and bragging rights! Been wanting to try the WOO? Here’s your chance!
The WOO Crew will be there all weekend helping out, taking photos of everyone riding with WOO, and shredding. Come on out for a fun weekend, challenge your friends and get in the Game!

WHY WE STARTED

Life is unpredictable. Two years ago if you had asked any of us at WOO Sports what we would be doing right now, most of us probably would have had some ambitious dreams, but none of us would have predicted that we would be working at a startup developing a motion sensor for action sports. Yet, after the seed was planted in various arguments and discussions after kiteboarding sessions at our local spot in Boston, it was almost inevitable that WOO Sports would be founded. The opportunity to build an awesome business, revolutionize action sports and turn our passion into our profession seemed too clear.

Kiteboarders and entrepreneurs share a lot of attributes – strong passion, the willingness to take risks and get out of our comfort zones, the desire to take adventures and do things differently — so it seemed like a no-brainer for us to create WOO Sports. It’s the sweet spot between action sports, technology and entrepreneurship.

WHO WE ARE

At WOO Sports, we’re down to earth people. We are passionate kiteboarders and action sports athletes that share a common vision. We are a bunch of hardcore engineers and professionals – some might call us nerds – with lots of “left brain” degrees and skills, but at the core of it, we are a “right brain” company. Things like low prices, widespread distribution, obnoxious marketing or “good-enough” quality don’t resonate with us. Instead, we live and breathe authenticity, honesty, emotion, creativity, joy and great product. That doesn’t mean that we won’t screw up, but rest assured that we pour our passion into making you, our customers, happy. We hope that the fun, passion, adrenaline and flow we experience when we go kiteboarding, skiing, snowboarding, you name it, transpires through our product. In the end, this is what WOO Sports is built on, and this is what all of us feed on day in and day out.

WHAT OUR VISION IS

If you bought our product, you most likely understand the profound and positive effects kiteboarding and action sports can have on your life. Doing action sports is the most surefire way to get into a state of mindfulness, flow, happiness and community. Its something that makes you feel truly alive. As such, our vision is to use technology to drive people off their couches, away from their TV screens and out of their everyday lives into the fascinating world of action sports. We want to turn action sports into a big online game. Your kiteboard, snowboard, skis, skateboard – whatever it is – will become your game controller. As humans we are made to move, we are born to play, live outdoors and experience nature. We play with the elements, challenging ourselves and others. At the end of the day, if we drive more people towards that unique and raw experience, and we can say that we created happier and healthier lives for many of us, then, and only then, will we consider WOO Sports a success.

The behind-the-scenees stories on the making of this contest will broadcast in an hourlong “World of X Games” show on ABC, Saturday, July 30 at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT.
