Wake Festival 2021 : There is no wakespot where a competition like that can takes place in Poland . They’re  borrowing a sesitec 2.0 lift and setting it up on the lake in the middle of the biggest Music festival just for a week 🙂

It’s the second edition of the Wake Fest festival. This  wakeboard competition  takes place during the biggest music festival in Poland this year –

Named “FEST” festival in Śląski park, Chorzów 11-14.08.2021r. It’s an  invitationnal event  only  and some of the best polish riders are already confirmed for this year. There will be cash prizes and the prize pool is around 2000 EUR.

We want to share our sport and passion for wakeboarding with a wider audience and have a great time while doing it 🙂

Food and Wake ,without any new arriving tourists, they have been wakeboarding a lot with the staff, and locals and residents. It’s been fun to bond, and see old friends again, which we lost track off during the busier tourism times.

To continue, they organised an open Wakepark Day, free for all locals and residents.

And now, they organise another project, called “Food and Wake” for Siargao Kids.

Last Saturday, they did their first try-out event and invited all kids from the local village Consuelo. More than 40 kids showed up and spent the afternoon laughing, swimming, wakeboarding and having a nice meal!

Since the opening 2 years ago, they have been wanting to start a community activity where the people of Siargao can benefit the wakepark and experience our way of riding.

These uncertain times calls for opportunity!

They’re inviting all the kids of the surrounding villages to come to the wakepark and have a delicious meal while learning how to wakeboard!

To make this happen, They  need your help!

They’re  now accepting donations.

For 2000php (40USD or 35EUR), you can help us accommodate 10 kids every hour in our “Wake and Food Program”. The more funds we raise, the more kids will be given a chance to enjoy this experience.

The wakepark activity expense, is brought to the bare minimum, enough to pay for the electricity, maintenance and staff. We want to keep open and give everyone on the island the opportunity to ride.

Ceremony

Mayor Bill Braswell, Commissioner Dorothea Taylor Bogert, Commissioner Keith Crowie, Commissioner Richard Hamann, Commissioner Bill Sterling and watersports industry executives attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. Afterwards, the park opened and locals rode the cable. There was a waterslide, face painting, and many more fun activities.

Tantrums Lakeside Grill, Elite Cable Park’s restaurant, is one of the few locations in Auburndale with a lakeside view. Tantrums also opened on Saturday with a variety of po’ boys, seafood boats, icecream, and more treats for the family.

The park is staffed with experienced coaches offering lessons in wakeboarding, waterskiing, and other watersports of all skill levels. Like Aktion’s other world-famous parks (Orlando Watersports Complex and Miami Watersports Complex), ECP provides Hyperlite equipment and will host events that feature the award-winning Nautique Boats.

If you have seen Felix Georgii’s recent X-Games real wake submission, you might remember one winch spot that was especially challenging. With his second Unit signature feature, Felix wanted to bring winch inspired riding to wakeboard cableparks.

” I’m extremely happy how my second signature feature turned out. Now everyone has the opportunity to ride a modified winch spot at their home cable ! ”

Located in General Luna, Surigao Del Norte, Siargao Wakepark provides wakeboarding in the surfing capital of the Philippines. It is the newest boardsport on the vibrant island of Siargao. Then, next to surfing, island hopping, kitesurfing and Stand-up-paddling, it is one of the stand out activities which can be practiced on a hidden lake in between the palmtrees.

Siargao Wakepark consist out of two lakes connected by a poolgap. The main lake is 100m long and 30m wide. It’s the base of the park and the place where beginner and intermediate riders ride. Our wakepark contains a 2-tower cable system. Moreover manual control and individual instruction makes it the perfect learning ground for everyone. Kids are also very welcome. They only require basic swimming skills and parental guidance.

“There was a mountain river on the site of our future wake park. We built a dam and made a lake.

We had to broaden the lake and even to explode a part of the rock in order to build a large winch for the wakeboard cable system.

Unlike most of wake parks, our park is located in the mountains. It means that the surface of water is always smooth because the lake is surrounded by the hills. And the water is fresh, pure and even drinkable. Though it is dark because of the fine rocks in the lake.

There is the Gold City Complex near our wake park. In the Gold City you can have a room or an appartment. Besides, the Gold City has SPA and football fields. It may be interesting for some riders or members of their families. You need to walk there only 100 meters from our cable park to enjoy their services.”
