Red Bull athlete Jules Charraud, known for pushing the limits of his sport, delivers a highly creative performance by taking on the Alpine summits. Inthis spectacular video, shot in the iconic resorts of Serre-Chevalier, Courchevel, Montgenèvre and Val Thorens, Jules leaves his usualplayground behind to explore snowy and icy landscapes.Pulled by a winch, he turns the mountains into a gigantic natural cablepark. Between frozen rivers, ski slopes, iced-over lakes, boardercrosstracks and chairlifts, wakeboarding becomes a fully fledged winter sport.

In this video, Jules Charraud strings together never-before-seen sequences where every shot defies gravity and imagination. He slaloms between skiers on the slopes, takes on snowboarders on a boardercross course, jumps over a cross‑country skier, cuts right through a hockey game on ice, and even soars over snowy walkways several metres above the Lac de la Rosière.

With a wakeboard specially designed for the occasion, he even rides up a slope, weaving between giant slalom gates, showcasing flawless technique and boundless creativity. As unexpected as they are impressive, these images invite us to rethink sliding sports by tearing down the barriers between water, snow and ice.

Jules Charraud started wakeboarding at the age of 10 in Val-d’Oise, at Cergy.  Touch the Water : The new opus of the Russian wakeskate crew under the lens of Artem Hazov …

We just made an article of  Artem few years ago this is what he said !

What comes to your mind first when you hear the word “Russia”?
Mr. Putin, vodka, bears? But these things don’t nearly define what Russia is.
To me, Russia is all about determination.

Today I want to pay tribute to the Russian daredevils, that got together to do the impossible.
Some people believe that thoughts are material, and that those who share the same passion will inevitably attract like-minded people.

This way, me as a videographer i came up with an idea to make a film about wakeskating. It was May 2019, wakeskating season was at its peak.
However, there was just one problem – you could count local wakeskaters on the fingers of one hand. Literally.So, what was next? The work on our scenario, search for sponsors and locations took longer than we expected.
Wakeskating season was heading towards its end since the water would soon freeze. Most wakeskaters usually go on training in some places warmer, but not the Russians.
ShoreLab. was looking for new wakeskate team and our guys took the call and ShoreLab. provided them with #JamTank winch. And then something unexpected happened

We were blessed with the warmest winter ever in the history of St Petersburg with monthly average temperature of +4C against the standard -15C. That was it.
They just got their wetsuits, their #JamTank winches and went on to find amazing spots to do the thing they’re best at.
Well, I guess the photos speak for themselves. Mind that the water temperature was just +3C!
For me, that was just another reminder that we’re not so different after all.
I believe now that if you’re passionate about what you’re doing, you’ll always find someone as crazy as you

Someone who would be willing to ride in freezing water and someone who’d be ready to capture it.

Wakeboarder Jules Charraud took advantage of the return of sunny days to take his followers around France. On his wakeboard, he rides the most beautiful tricolor landscapes that he has compiled in 3 videos available on Redbull France Instagram Channel

The 21-year-old from Toulouse left to tour the most beautiful French landscapes, to make three videos, titled Tours and Detours, posted on social networks. Jules Charraud using his portable winch, went to discover French heritage, to ride on the Seine, to the Château de Chantilly via Mont-Saint-Michel. “I really wanted to do a big project with this concept of wakeboarding in somewhat unusual places,” explains the Toulouse resident. The goal is to show people around France in a different way. ”

Exceptional spots

From the foot of the Eiffel Tower in the middle of the salt marshes, the favorite spot of the French wakeboarder on his “Tour de France”, was the Château de Chantilly. “It was really magical, the setting is incredible,” says Jules Charraud. They spent the day there and they took pictures from right to left, they were never bored. A representative of the castle followed us and advised us on the site. Big thanks to him that I was able to ride in the moat. ”

The project required a lot of upstream work from the wakeboarder and his team, especially for the selection of places. For the spots, two criteria: visual and aesthetic spots and performance spots, but it is still necessary to succeed in obtaining all the authorizations. “It’s a must, it would be a shame to make pirate spots for the end not to be able to post the video,” explains Jules. But in general we didn’t have too many difficulties, for example in Romorantin, the mayor only asked us to “watch out for the ducks! “

The Dirge Birge highlights ….

For 5 days in late October an all time crew floated, winched, towed, celebrated, spelunked, knee’d, foot’d, laughed and bonded all while covering 58 miles of the historic suwannee river.

Huge thanks to the crew of MP Cunningham, Parks Bonifay, Quinn Silvernale, Constanza Scaglia, Daryl Znebel, Crosse Bearden, and Wesley Mark Jacobsen (and Chopstix for his special appearance). Everyone came ready for an unknown adventure and helped create one of those most memorable trips of a lifetime. Footage featured shot by the whole team.

Graeme Burress LandLOCKED …

While INSIGHT was receiving accolades and honors at the end of 2019 Graeme Burress was in a Philippines hospital looking at a rough x-ray.

He broke his arm which required multiple surgeries and almost six months of recovery. It’s a tough way to begin any season but Graeme has battled through tougher circumstances.

During his downtime he focused on developing his new pro model shape, the Blacklist, and mapping out everywhere he wanted to ride in 2020. Then Covid hit and flipped the switch yet again.

Graeme has been residing in Austin, TX, close to fellow Hyperlite team rider, JB O’Neill and the two of them hatched this idea to just load up the Prius and drive to every park they could.

Luckily for the two of them, master drone pilot and content creator Dave Averillo, or Dave AV, was stuck in Orlando with nothing to do. They found him a $23 airfare so they could all meet at The Levee Wake Park outside Dallas where they’d spend a couple weeks filming as Graeme was finally able to jump back on his board. From there the crew moved from wake park to wake park, winching along the way and capturing everything they could for Graeme’s LandLOCKED edit.

This edit is a continuation of where Graeme left off after INSIGHT, full of hammers, first-ever and gnarly stunts. 2020 was an unexpected season for us all, but according to Graeme, maybe being landlocked isn’t that bad and maybe it was just what he needed so he could focus on his wake boarding while visiting 13 parks throughout the US.
