One of the most popular destinations after the Olympics Paris 2024

“The 2024 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships will be held from 15th to 22ndSeptember 2024 at Le Kable, in Choisy le Roi, Paris.

Following the success of the 2023 IWWF European Cable Wakeboard Championships at the same venue, this global event will gather the world’s top wakeboard and wakeskate athletes. With over 200 riders expected, this event will be a highlight of the international cable wakeboarding calendar, drawing fans and supporters from across the globe.

Patrice Martin, President of the Fédération Française de Ski Nautique et de Wakeboard (FFSNW), expressed his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to host the 2024 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships in Paris. “Le Kable” offers world-class facilities that will undoubtedly help the riders perform at their best. We look forward to welcoming participants and spectators to what promises to be an unforgettable event.”

Paris promises to be the top sports destination this Summer and participants of the 2024 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships will for sure feel the recent Olympic vibe in the city.

Next year marks a historic milestone as cable wakeboarding returns to the prestigious stage of the World Games after a two-decade hiatus. Participation in the 2024 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championships is mandatory for riders aspiring to secure one of the limited qualifying cable wakeboard spots available to compete in  The World Games 2025, in Chengdu, China.  There will only be 14 spots allocated for men and 14 spots for wom to be part of these multi-sports games.

]]> 2021 IWWF World Wakeboard championships held in Italy, July  19th to 24th

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s (IWWF) Executive Board has approved the bid for the 2021 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships to be held in Rieti, Italy.

The event will be organised by the Italian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation, in collaboration with Club Nautico Varco Sabino Wave (CNVS WAVE), from 19th to 24th July 2021.

2021 IWWF World Wakeboard Spot  | Rieti Italy

Riders will compete for IWWF World titles in ten age-group categories for both men and women (14 & Under, 18 & Under, 30 & Over, 40 & Over and Open) and team overall title. The event will offer a USD50,000.00 cash purse to riders competing in the Open Men’s & Women’s category.

Mr. Luciano Serafica, President of the Italian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to host the 2021 IWWF World Wakeboard Championship in the fantastic setting of Lago del Salto, unique for its characteristics that makes it one of the most sought-after spots for organizing high level sporting events.”

The IWWF World Wakeboard Championships was last held in Italy in 2011 and Team Italy last won the Team Overall title in 2015. The event venue for the 2021 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships, CNVS WAVE, has hosted the IWWF European & African Wakeboard Championships twice in 2004 and 2018.

Jose Antonio Perez Priego, President of IWWF, said: “We are very excited the IWWF World Wakeboard Championships are returning to Italy. The venue at Lago del Salto will see the world’s best riders challenging each other at the highest level of competition.”

The IWWF will continue to monitor the world-wide coronavirus situation while the Italian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation advises on event and travel restrictions leading up to the event.  Federations will be informed ahead of time if there will be a change.

Nautique Wake Series 2020,  Announced 4 Series Events  !

The World Wake Association (WWA) and Nautique Boat Company are proud to announce the return of the Nautique Wake Series for 2020, with four action-packed WWA Wakeboard World Series (WBWS) event stops. Exclusively towed behind the 7X Wakeboard Boat of the Year, the Super Air Nautique G23, this series delivers the highest level of wakeboarding competition providing a career-defining platform for athletes to come to showcase progression and define themselves as the sport’s elite. A dedication to rider development and a family-friendly environment has made the Nautique Wake Series home to an international field of athletes competing in all WWA professional and amateur divisions, continuing a tradition that always puts riders first.

“The Nautique Wake Series is the pinnacle of wake events and I personally find the series of events are the only ones I go to where I can count on the conditions being close to perfect. The wake behind the G23 is always the biggest wake in the industry, paired with Nautique’s selection of the best locations brings together the best riding and most entertaining finals,” commented 2019 Nautique Wake Series Overall Champion Cory Teunissen. “A personal favorite for me is the last event of the year, the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships. The 2020 Nautique Wake Series will officially kick off on the largest international stage in watersports with stop one at the Nautique Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia. Stop two will bring a prestigious selection of riders the opportunity to compete at the legendary Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA for the 61st Nautique Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology. Riders will have the opportunity to earn a Masters invitation at the 3rd annual Nautique Masters Wakeboard LCQ held in the heart of wakeboarding in Orlando, Florida.

The third stop of the Nautique Wake Series lands in Waco, Texas at the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships alongside the Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships and Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships for the ultimate wake throwdown of the new decade. The fourth and final stop will take us to the tropical paradise of Playa del Carmen, Mexico for the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships. Reeling off the momentum felt in 2019 the WWA Wakeboard World Championships will once again join the Nautique WWA Wake Park World Championships for an epic season finale.
Pro Men, Pro Women and Jr. Pro Men athletes compete throughout the season with over $30,000 (USD) in additional prize money on the line for the overall Nautique Wake Series title. The entire season comes down to the final stop where the WWA World Champions, Nautique Wake Series Overall Champions and WWA Wakeboard World Series Overall Champions are crowned.

“The Nautique Wake Series brings together wakeboarders of all ages and skill levels to battle for titles while combining fun and progressing the sport,” said Nautique President Greg Meloon. “With an exciting series of events set for the 2020 season, I can’t wait to see what all of the riders have up their sleeves and look forward to seeing them perform their best behind the award-winning G23.”

The Nautique Wake Series and WWA Wakeboard World Series will once again kick off the 2020 season with the 60th Nautique Moomba Masters International Invitational Championships on the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia.

Riders who are interested in the opportunity to become a part of history at the most spectated watersports event on the planet are invited to register the “Intent to Enter” before Tuesday, December 31, 2019.

2019 IWWF WORLDS | Abu Dhabi


The event is organised by the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC), the Middle East’s leading organiser of marine sports events at local, national, regional and international level, having hosted rounds of the UIM F1 H20 World Championship, the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat World Championship and the XCAT World Series.

Australia placed first in the team overall event at the 2017 IWWF World Wakeboard Championships followed by Italy (2nd) and Argentina (3rd).

“We are very excited to host the 2020 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championships at ESC Thai Wake Park and welcome the best cable riders from all over the world to visit Thailand next September”, said TESA President, Mr. Piti Bhirombhakdi. “I am very pleased that Thailand, one of the most popular destinations for cable wakeboarding, will host its first IWWF world-titled event and believe TESA will be excellent hosts for the world’s best cable riders”, said IWWF President, Jose Antonio Perez Priego.
 
ESC Thai Wake Park is a collaboration project between ESC, a real estate developer, and Thai Wake Park (TWP). It features a main anti-clockwise 5-tower Rixen cableway, a Rixen Little Bro training cableway, more than 12 full plastic features and night riding. The park is located in the Rangsit area, only 40 minutes from the centre of Bangkok, 30-minutes from Don Mueang International Airport and 60 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Construction on ESC Thai Wake Park began in September 2018. It had its soft opening at the end of August 2019 and is now fully-operational with riders hitting the water daily. 
 
In addition to a cable wake park, with its 800,000 square metres of land, the project will consist of a golf driving range, onsite accommodation, a convention room (estimated completion February 2020), a variety of restaurants (estimated completion May 2020) and a pre-existing shooting studio. The next phase of the project will consist of a mini-skate park, fitness centre and a football field (estimated completion 2021). Nattorn​ Ratanachai, Marketing Director of ESC Thai Wake Park said “It’s an honor to host 2020 IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championship. We are very excited and will do our best to ensure everyone enjoys the event”.
