Hi 🙂 My name is Madison White, I’m 20  and from Essex in the UK.
My passion is wakeboarding and travelling and this website allows me to share my wakeboarding journey as I travel the world and enjoy the sport I love.

I started cable wakeboarding at my local lake in 2014 after spending a lot of my younger years on the water jet-skiing and wakeboarding behind boat before I found the cable. In a relatively short time I’ve already visited loads of different countries, been to some beautiful places and met some fantastic people, can’t wait to see where the future takes me.

L’histoire

On ne peut pas parler de wakeboard sans parler de la marque Double Up Wake… Créée aux Etats-Unis en 1996 et maintenant localisée en Australie, la marque créée par Jonathan Kohlman et Scott Broome propose une gamme de produits qui se veut simple et efficace. Simple pour que le rider puisse s’adapter facilement à la planche et exprimer son style sans contraintes et avec aisance. Efficace pour une meilleure réactivité du matériel sur l’eau.

Experts du cable park

Orientées vers une pratique cable/wake park, les planches DUP ont la réputation, tout à fait fondée, d’être robustes et fiables. Avec leur noyau en bois de Pauwlonia léger et réactif, elles répondent immédiatement et avec précision aux ordres du rider.La marque s’est d’ailleurs fait une spécialité des planches à rocker 3 niveaux, assurant un pop énorme pour toujours plus d’amplitude dans vos tricks.

LOCAL HERO, PEDRO CALDAS

How did you get started wakeboarding?
My first contact was in a trip to Orlando with my family, but I really started a few years later when my Dad made me the luckiest dude in the world and decided to open his own cable park, Naga.

Do you do any other board sports?
My roots come from surfing but nowadays I’ve been skating a bunch in the local skate park. Thiago Lemos is from the same city I live in.

What do you like the most about wakeboarding?
Riding on various countries, and meet new friends everywhere.

What do you dislike?
Nothing.

Name a trick you would like to do one day?
My dream is to create one of my own, have a some in mind, but need to put it in action.

Which do you prefer, rails or kickers?
Rails all the way.

If you could have a session with anyone, who would it be?
Everybody has something to bring to the table, but Guenther’s riding never ceases to amaze me. He is a creative and well rounded rider.

Tell us a bit about Your Home Spots?
I daily ride Naga, it has a strong connection with nature since it is surrounded by trees and the water is pura that comes from the grown.

Near by there’s an sick 2.0 called Mobe wake park, that has some cool features and good people in love with wakeboard.

And there’s also a new cable park here in Brasil called Sunset wake park, it has a full size and a sick bi-level. They hosted a pro competition last year that was aired in live in the biggest channel in the country (Daniel won, I got second). All thanks to the owner Matheus that is one of the most famous country singer out here.

Do you always ride alone?
There’s not many rider were I ride that are trying to push their riding to the next level, but there’s always good people around looking for a good time. Although there’s a new group of groomets coming from Sunset that are shredding their cable apart.

What Wakeboard or Snowboard LEGEND you’re fan ?
Shaun and Shaun i let you dare to find the Family names.

What your Goals for 2017 ?
I want to travel the world having a good time with friends and meeting new people while I do what I love, Wakeboarding. I plan to attend to competitions like Plastic Playground and keep pushing my riding.

Any shout out ?
It’s cliche, but to my parents, without them I wouldn’t be in this path. And my sponsors for sure !

Peux-tu te présenter en quelques mots ?
Je suis né à Buenos Aires, Argentine où j’y ai vécu jusqu’à mes 18 ans. Je suis ensuite arrivé en France pour faire mes études et j’y habite depuis 12 ans, ce qui me fait 30 ans ! Quand je ne suis pas sur l’eau, je suis contrôleur aérien au centre en route de la navigation aérienne de Paris !

Comment t’es-tu retrouvé pour la première fois sur un wakeboard ?
C’était en 2012, il me semble, alors que j’habitais à Toulouse. À l’époque, je faisais pas mal de kite et un jour de pétole je me suis dis tiens, pourquoi pas essayer ce truc, ça a l’air pas mal ! J’ai débarqué en vainqueur avec ma planche de kite à Sesquières haha… autant te dire que j’ai vite loué du matos de wake.

On te retrouve toujours sur des spots surprenants, d’où te vient cette inspiration ?
Je pense que depuis petit, j’ai l’habitude de beaucoup bouger, du coup l’envie de découvrir de nouveaux endroits se répercute dans mes choix de spots ! Et puis j’adore les endroits insolites, du coup dès que j’ai l’occasion et la chance de participer à des projets atypiques, je saute dans l’avion direct !

Le spot de rêve que tu n’oublieras jamais ?
Après avoir fait du winch dans la ville fantôme inondée d’Epecuen en Argentine, ça va être compliqué de trouver un endroit plus mystique que celui-là !

Si on part en van trip demain, quels sont tes indispensables ?
Mon Mac avec tous mes logiciels de dessin, musique, montage vidéo… Un livre et n’importe quelle planche pour vu que ça ride !

Depuis combien de temps es-tu dans la team Double Up Wakeboards ? Peux-tu nous parler de l’ambiance générale de la team ?
Je suis rentré dans la team Dup début 2016 avec un grand sourire, car non seulement je rejoignais mon pote Bruno Bargé, mais à ce même moment mon pote argentin Lucas Gonzales m’apprenait qu’il allait devenir le distributeur Dup d’Amérique du Sud ! Donc plus qu’intégrer un team de wake, j’avais l’impression de rejoindre les copains dans une belle aventure.
