Fire, Water & Pipes for 4 years has transformed from local competitions into a grandiose festival of water extreme and active lifestyle.

Thanks to this Fire, Water & Pipes has become one of the most notable competitions on the world stage, attracting famous foreign athletes from all over the world.

Fire, Water & Pipes are PRO competitions. The record prize fund for the winners will be $20,000 this year. Spectators will not be bored, watching the attempts of beginners: only the top riders of Russia will come to the water to compete for a pedestal with world stars from America, Europe and Asia. No one has seen this level yet.

The degree of adrenaline will exceed any norms due to the unique two-level jib-park #KWWS, from the performance in which it takes breath. The most exciting elements of wakeboarding directly above the heads of thousands of spectators. Extreme in its most actual form.

Cash 4 Tricks — the most creative nomination will be held this time too. Cash for the most unusual, fresh, hard and beautiful tricks. No restrictions, only the most daring and extreme ideas of athletes, spectacular falls and ovations of the crowd!

The growth of the audience of up to 7000 people in 2017 made Fire, Water & Pipes a full-fledged festival, which means that all summer activities and entertainment will be available for all guests. During both days spectacular show cases and prize contests for all comers will be held, and at the end of the competition we start a big party with live DJ-sets and festive fireworks.

The pool is equipped with two modern wakeboard lines manufactured by Kingwinch Wake System (KWWS), these are the only competitions where two riders start and execute their programs on two cable lines at the same time, so spectators and judges can compare the level of riding in real time.

Kingwinch Winter Challenge – the official wakeboard championship of St. Petersburg. For the second time these competitions are supported by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of St. Petersburg and will be accredited by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). The national competition rating is 100 points.

Contribution will be made on the official launch of the competition on February 24 from 19:00 to 21:00. Non-resident and foreign riders will be able to make a contribution by bank card.

Regulations and additional information

Competition is held in the Flat discipline. Paired runs on two riders with a free program. Riders start in one direction on two lines at the same time. The result is estimated by the sum of points for the program.

There are 4 main laps of the competition: qualification, LCQ, semifinal, final. The judges distribute the riders in groups (heats). Riders who showed the best results in their groups go to the next round. Riders who failed the qualifying races form an additional group for the second attempt – LCQ (Last Chance Qualification).

For each of the categories there are 3 prize places.

But, one step at a time. More than 60 sportsmen from Russia, Finland, Belarus, Ukraine, the Netherlands, the USA and Spain came to participate in this contest. The first day was featured by OPEN MEN (22 participants), OPEN LADIES (7 participants) and WAKESTATE (8 participants) contests. Every participant was given two rides (back and forth) and only one chance to fall.

The second day began with semifinals. 16 sportsmen who made it through the qualification contest were given their deserved gangster t-shirts of contest participants and began to conquer plastic shapes and demonstrate tricks they have been mastering during the whole summer season.

Results

«CASH FOR TRICKS»

The main and the most spectacular part of the contest CASH FOR TRICKS was scheduled on 3:00 pm. In the afternoon, there were already many spectators willing to watch the professional riding. The stands and the upper circles were full and at that moment the contest began. 20 strongest PRO-riders, 5 in each group, and only 4 of them will make it to Daniel Grant.

In the course of three years, Kingwinch has been searching for a format which would make the contest more spectacular and fascinating, develop all the advantages of the artificial two-level swimming pool, give spectators the unforgettable emotions from what they see and make the contest simple and easy to understand even for people who do not know much about wakeboarding.

DANIEL GRANT

In spite of unusual for him weather conditions, Daniel Grant’s riding was unparalleled. The ice cold water, the cold autumn wind — everything was child’s play to him. Only five meters away from the spectators, he was just FLYING from shape to shape performing unparalleled twists as if it was very SIMPLE! His fearlessness, strength, power and experience were just striking. There were thunder applauses, hisses and yells, it was literally impossible to watch him riding without being amused. All spectators were confused — they didn’t realize HOW DID HE DO THAT, and the riders were taking a mental note of interesting tricks and combinations which will be the impetus for them for the long time! He is a fivefold world’s wakeboarding champion not without reason. Daniel left such a comment for the First Channel TV: «It is definitely cold here. Perhaps, this place is the coldest one I have ever ridden in. But nevertheless, I brought my wetsuit here and I am ready to have a good time here. I want to tell you that I admire the Russian riders. It is an absolute madness for me how much time do they spend here riding in a cold water. I wouldn’t be able to do this. But their level is great and I like their passionate attitude towards wakeboarding”.

The day before the contest, together with the EMERCOM, they organized the morning session for Daniel and Terry on a motor boat in the center of the city! And this was a true surprise because Grant has never ridden with a motor boat!!! It was a fun, and the great material they have will be used both in the summary video of The Kingwinch and in the feature-length film by Grant.

Daniel Grant designs his first Features for Kingwinch Wakepark.
Pro Wakeboarder, Daniel Grant has confirmed to help KingWinch Wake Park, to design their main obstacle at their be-level park in St. Petersburg, Russia. The work on it is going on in cooperation with KingWinch Wake System(KWWS) that is specializing in producing two-tower wake-systems, obstacles and wake park software.
The Liquid Force and Rip Curl International Rider, is well known within the Cable Wakepark circuit, but is showing is diversity and knowledge in the sport by sharing his vision as to how obstacles should be, at a progressive cable park. By now the design of the main obstacle is almost done. KWWS has started to work on the underwater part. We are pleased to introduce the current version of the obstacle that nevertheless could be changed during the further working.

DAniel Grant pro Obstacles

The visit of Daniel Grant is planned from the 11th till 18thof September. Organizers of the main Russia’s annual jib contest “Fire Water and Pipes” has already shifted it to the 17th of September, to make it possible for Daniel to participate. The contest will be held in the renewed be-level KingWinch wake park. The park is one and only stationary be-level park in Russia, that is completely artificial and built by Kingwinch Wake System (KWWS). The prize no less than 5000$ may be raised significantly during the sponsors joining and the contest is promised to be very exciting event. The highlight of the contest will be the “Cash for tricks” nomination when riders will ride freestyle ride with their own music track. The best one is determined by the riders voting and will take special money prize. (Last time it was Yannik Paton, Spain).
