We just made an article of  Artem few years ago this is what he said !

What comes to your mind first when you hear the word “Russia”?
Mr. Putin, vodka, bears? But these things don’t nearly define what Russia is.
To me, Russia is all about determination.

Today I want to pay tribute to the Russian daredevils, that got together to do the impossible.
Some people believe that thoughts are material, and that those who share the same passion will inevitably attract like-minded people.

This way, me as a videographer i came up with an idea to make a film about wakeskating. It was May 2019, wakeskating season was at its peak.
However, there was just one problem – you could count local wakeskaters on the fingers of one hand. Literally.So, what was next? The work on our scenario, search for sponsors and locations took longer than we expected.
Wakeskating season was heading towards its end since the water would soon freeze. Most wakeskaters usually go on training in some places warmer, but not the Russians.
ShoreLab. was looking for new wakeskate team and our guys took the call and ShoreLab. provided them with #JamTank winch. And then something unexpected happened

We were blessed with the warmest winter ever in the history of St Petersburg with monthly average temperature of +4C against the standard -15C. That was it.
They just got their wetsuits, their #JamTank winches and went on to find amazing spots to do the thing they’re best at.
Well, I guess the photos speak for themselves. Mind that the water temperature was just +3C!
For me, that was just another reminder that we’re not so different after all.
I believe now that if you’re passionate about what you’re doing, you’ll always find someone as crazy as you

Someone who would be willing to ride in freezing water and someone who’d be ready to capture it.

The first Russian film about street wakeboarding from KRUG Production. Most recently, we had no parks at all, and we even dreamed of a good springboard, and now, it seems, we have everything thanks not God but  DROP !

But we want to move forward, we constantly need to conquer ourselves and put new slats. Many people think that parks with sicks figures are the limit, but that not right, and we know where the way out !

Our team went on a trip to Russia to learn from their own experience what street wakeboarding is.

Fire, Water & Pipes for 4 years has transformed from local competitions into a grandiose festival of water extreme and active lifestyle.

Thanks to this Fire, Water & Pipes has become one of the most notable competitions on the world stage, attracting famous foreign athletes from all over the world.

Fire, Water & Pipes are PRO competitions. The record prize fund for the winners will be $20,000 this year. Spectators will not be bored, watching the attempts of beginners: only the top riders of Russia will come to the water to compete for a pedestal with world stars from America, Europe and Asia. No one has seen this level yet.

The degree of adrenaline will exceed any norms due to the unique two-level jib-park #KWWS, from the performance in which it takes breath. The most exciting elements of wakeboarding directly above the heads of thousands of spectators. Extreme in its most actual form.

Cash 4 Tricks — the most creative nomination will be held this time too. Cash for the most unusual, fresh, hard and beautiful tricks. No restrictions, only the most daring and extreme ideas of athletes, spectacular falls and ovations of the crowd!

The growth of the audience of up to 7000 people in 2017 made Fire, Water & Pipes a full-fledged festival, which means that all summer activities and entertainment will be available for all guests. During both days spectacular show cases and prize contests for all comers will be held, and at the end of the competition we start a big party with live DJ-sets and festive fireworks.

The pool is equipped with two modern wakeboard lines manufactured by Kingwinch Wake System (KWWS), these are the only competitions where two riders start and execute their programs on two cable lines at the same time, so spectators and judges can compare the level of riding in real time.

Kingwinch Winter Challenge – the official wakeboard championship of St. Petersburg. For the second time these competitions are supported by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of St. Petersburg and will be accredited by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). The national competition rating is 100 points.

Regulations and additional information

Competition is held in the Flat discipline. Paired runs on two riders with a free program. Riders start in one direction on two lines at the same time. The result is estimated by the sum of points for the program.

There are 4 main laps of the competition: qualification, LCQ, semifinal, final. The judges distribute the riders in groups (heats). Riders who showed the best results in their groups go to the next round. Riders who failed the qualifying races form an additional group for the second attempt – LCQ (Last Chance Qualification).

For each of the categories there are 3 prize places.

WAKE PARK

The park stands on a special platform and consists of two 11 m wide pools that are connected by 8 jibbing elements for riders to trick their way between the pools.

From 1 to 3 September, the venues will host a special program for schoolchildren.

On 8 and 9 September, riders will be able to take part in an international wakeboarding competition. Registration is now open at https://wakebase.ru/

Qualifying rounds will take place on 8 September, followed by the semi-finals and the final round on 9 September. The prize money is made up of sponsor contributions and amounts to RUB 600,000. The judging panel will consist of professional riders.

On 10 September, spectators will have a chance to enjoy some freeriding as part of a Jam Session and marvel at a dazzling performance by acclaimed riders, including Sam de Haan, the number one ranked wakeboarder in the world, as well as Ian Curry and Dominik Gührs. These world-renowned professionals will be showing off their skills the entire day – from 10 am to 10 pm.
