Pedro Caldas and Dave AV continue to deliver epic wakeboarding content as we gear up for the new season. Their latest project, “Las Tres,” was captured in Mexico at Mayan Water Complex – a Hyperlite supported Wake Park. Join Pedro on his adventure around town and on the water, ripping behind the boat on his Wishbone, and throwing down at the park. Look closely for all of the piñata appearances, including a cameo by a custom Pedro piñata that spins laps in a doubles session.

This time the crew heads to the UK filming cable, boat and urban. When not riding at North Devon Wake Park, Spot On Wake and Camel Ski, Pedro earns himself a new nickname in this edit. “The Brazilian Cowboy” absolutely blows it up between the towers and behind the boat on his H/L UNION wakeboard. And Dave AV proves he’s on top of the game yet again. With a jammin’ sound and incredible riding, this one leaves us wanting more and wishing for a simpler life, livin’ in a van down by the cable. Hyperlite is excited to share our latest production, “Rusty Luvs DUBs” featuring the Bone Crusher himself, R.Malinoski. A portion of Rusty’s old nickname came from his smashing DUBs like no one ever had before. Gathering footage from Kilgus, Rathy, Shane and others allowed us to create an anthology of Rusty and his love for hitting double ups. Combined with Hyperlite’s archives this edit is full of first ever tricks, huge booters and smooth landings going back a decade or more. He explains how he likes his double ups served and the smile on his face when it all comes together perfectly is priceless. The double up offered instant innovation from Wakeboarding athletes, he took advantage of more airtime & smooth landings to push his riding to new levels. Sometimes after learning something new on the DUB that trick was taken to the wake while others he saved just for the double up. Either way “Rusty Luvs DUBs” is an entertaining look back at one of the sport’s most impactful players. He also wants to extend his thanks to everyone who has driven DUBs for him over the years, while hitting the wake just requires the proper speed setting, the double up is a team effort where he relied on his friends to serve ‘em up just right.

Hyperlite Team Rider Pedro Caldas has spent plenty of time in the Philippines Wakeboarding at the normal hot spots. Recently on Instagram he started to see this new park, Decawake Cable Park, with glassy water and top level locals shredding. Decawake holds an annual event called “Totally Rad” that Pedro and friends Rien and Fame had to check out. According to the crew the park was packed with the greatest people and buttery conditions 24/7, “A must visit when you’re in the Phillies” says Pedro. Just so happened that Dave Averillo was inbound to Deca at the same time, capturing the riding and lifestyle that Deca and Angeles has to offer. Enjoy Pedro at Decawake filmed and edited by Dave AV.

TAKE A CHANCE

This trip started six months ago when I traveled to the States to compete on Points Chase as the only rider representing Brazil. I met the Mexican crew having breakfast at the hotel, we hit it off right away and they invited me to be part of their team. I ended up finding that they own a world class cable park in the Mexican Caribbean (two full sizes, one 2.0, and a boat lake). Without hesitating I flew back to Brazil, packed some stuff and went straight to Cancun to shred one month at Mayan Water Complex.

My connection with Mexico was very strong from the beginning: I fell in love with their culture, their food, the stunning nature and of course… the wakeboarding. But above all things, just like any memorable trip, the best part is making new friends. One of them is Argentinean Fede Barcia a.k.a @thewakephotographer, with whom we shoot these photo sessions that we hope you like.

The Mayan Riviera showed me much more than just a wakeboard spot. It also gave me the chance to visit unreal places with the coolest people (buena onda vatos!). From crystalline waters in Bacalar, Tulum’s amazing vibe, cenotes all over the place or snorkeling with whale sharks in the off season. Undoubtedly it is a place to be known by everyone that wants to wakeboard and have a good time.

To finish this trip with a golden touch I was invited by a friend Lorena Vergara to wakeboard in “Pueblo Magico”of Bacalar. The crystal water of the lagoon of seven colors at the wake of the G21 make this the perfect context for the session . We stayed there 3 days riding a lot and having fun.

When I bought my ticket to the States I never expected all those upcoming events. I think life is magical and sometimes you have to take a chance on the unknown to experience new adventures. After two months in Brazil, I’m preparing my luggage to return to the Mayan Riviera, where I will spend all year training at Mayan Water Complex and living intensively off this paradise on a daily basis.
