The World Wake Association (WWA) and Liquid Leisure are excited to announce 2022 WWA Wake Park World Championships presented by Nautique Boats is heading to one of the most iconic and progressive wake parks in the World, Liquid Leisure Windsor in the U.K. With Liquid Leisure and it’s Plastic Playgrounds event being widely respected by the athletes, this Wake Park World Championship event is no doubt set to be one of the most anticipated wake park events of the season.

“The WWA is looking forward to this partnership with Liquid Leisure,”  says WWA president Shannon Starling, “We are combining the coveted WWA Wake Park World Championships with the premier, sport-changing Plastic Playgrounds. We pride ourselves working with athletes and creative organizers that support a constantly evolving sport. This is what Liquid Leisure and Plastic Playgrounds brings to the table. The 2022 WWA Wake Park World Championships presented by Nautique Boats will no doubt showcase the most progressive and impressive riding of the season as riders from around the globe make the journey to Liquid Leisure in hopes of bringing home a WWA World title and a piece of the $40,000 prize purse.

Because of your health and safety are our top priority, Orlando Watersports Complex is temporarily closed until further notice. Orange County has taken precautions by temporarily closing certain businesses to combat COVID-19. This has taken effect on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

In the meantime, we are taking steps in protecting our employees and your future experiences here by making our park the best place we can be. For your convenience, any prepaid and annual memberships will be frozen for the time we are closed.

Our favorite thing to do is pull your passion on the water because we believe people are better when they are on, in, under, or near the water according to Blue Mind author Dr. Wallace “J” Nichols. OWC will open as soon as we can so we can get you and your family back on the water safely.

Covid-19, The WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) Stop #2 was previously announced to land in Bangkok, Thailand at Zanook Wake Park on April 18 – 19, 2020. In an effort to look out for the safety of the riders, staff, and families around the globe the dates of this stop have been postponed due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus. The World Wake Association (The WWA) is working alongside the local event organizers to select new dates. The new dates will be announced to the public and riders as soon as they are confirmed.

Showcasing pro and amateur divisions at this exciting new stop to the series, the 2020 Thailand Wake Park World Series Stop will be first of its kind to feature equal prize money for Pro Men and Pro Women riders in both Traditional and Features-Only divisions totaling to $40,000 on the line. As the first full size wake park stop of the 2020 season this event will feature two days of riding for both pro and amateur divisions. With new and exciting park updates on the schedule in Thailand, riders can expect to see some brand-new features installed in time for the event.

The WWA WPWS is globally known to showcase an international field of riders and continue the exponential growth of park riding across all divisions. With an entire $50,000 in prize money up for grabs this event will not only feature equal podium prize money amongst the Pro Men and Women riders but will also include a $10,000 prize purse for the Pro Wakeskate division.

]]> Huge performances were seen this past weekend in London at the first stop of the 2019 Nautique Wakesurf Series. Riders gathered from over nine different countries to compete at the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships, striving to define themselves as the sport’s elite and hoping to secure the very first invitations to the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships. Nautique athlete Jodi Grassman came away with the win in the Pro Women’s division laying down her signature finesse to kick off the season with a top spot on the global rankings list. Rounding out the podium Jennifer Edwards finished in second, followed by Nadia Kosheleva in third.

The Pro Men’s division saw Markus Lahmer come out on top, absolutely annihilating the wake of the Super Air Nautique G23 ahead of Sebastien Balland in second, and Anthony Edwards in third.

Highlights

The Nautique European Wakesurf Championships set the pace for the season in a race to the top spot on the Wakesurf World Rankings. The next event of the series will head to the beautiful Alberta, Canada for the Nautique Canadian Wakesurf National Championships August 16th – 18th. That same weekend the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships – Russia, the third stop of the series, will take place in Moscow opening another opportunity for riders to secure their invitations to the culminating event of the season. Continuing their trek across the globe, riders will head to Seoul, Korea for the Nautique Asian Wakesurf Championships August 23rd – 25th.

The final event to earn an invitation to the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships will bring riders and families together in a fun-filled environment for the Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships in Waco, Texas August 30th – September 1st.

The Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships will be the premier invitational event, serving as the final stop of the Nautique Wakesurf Series. Riders who earn this prestigious invitation will have the opportunity to head to the world’s most prestigious waters of Callaway Gardens September 27th – 29th.   Winners at each stop of the series will automatically secure their invite to this crowning jewel event of the season.

Additional riders will have the opportunity to earn an invite through the Wakesurf World Rankings. Riders will earn points based on their placement within their division at each event they attend for the 2019 season.

Continuing the growth of wake with the newly formatted WWA Judges Clinics, the World Wake Association (The WWA) certified more Level 1 & 2 Judges in Taiwan this past weekend. These courses have been developed as a way to send new officials into the world in order to positively enhance the sport in all corners of the globe.

 

A class of sixteen from Taiwan became certified WWA Level 1 Judges, with an additional three students going on to complete the Level 2 rating. This newly certified group will begin their judging careers with local and regional events in their respective countries, further propelling them to becoming globally certified. 

 

The New Certified Judges Include :

Chen, Anita –Level 1
Hsiao, Hsiang-Tai –Level 1
Wang, Jyun Ying –Level 1
Chen, Kimberly –Level 1
Jui-Pin, Lin –Level 1
Kuo, Ming Lun –Level 1
Huang, Pei-Chi –Level 1
Chen, Shih Shiang –Level 1
Lin, Shih-Chan –Level 1
Lee, Ting Lung –Level 1
Wang, Yu wen –Level 1
Chiang, Yueh Pu (Joy) –Level 1
Liu, Hsiao-Ching –Level 1

Lee, Sammy –Level 2
Lin, Hao Ting (Hunter) –Level 2
Tsai, Wen Ping –Level 2

The WWA Judges Clinics include two days of various classroom sessions teaching the rules, judging criteria and techniques, and the scoring systems used at the WWA’s international field of events. The Level 1 course is considered an introduction to judging wakesports and is open to anyone who is interested in further defining their skill set and progressing the sport.
