Olivier Derome

It has been said that Oli Derome is a master of many things BIG and small. We put this theory to the test with a 125cm Super Grom, 160cm Nomad and a 155cm human and the results were impressive.

Best career moment: Sharing thepodium with my brother Raph at Wake the Line
Favorite trick: Toeside frontside 360, so many different ways to do it. It’s simple and a fun feeling trick.
An ideal day in your Malibu consists of: 85 degrees, bluebird skies and no wind on the family lake in Quebec.
Plans for 2016: Travel, learn, film and shoot photos, compete and have as much fun as possible.
Fun fact that most people do not know about you: Raph and I shared a room for 18 years! (laughter)

What is the riding scene like in Canada these days? The sport is getting bigger every year, two-tower cables are popping up everywhere.

Explain what it’s like to ride for Malibu. It’s like hanging out with your friends. Everyone is involved for the right reasons and that keeps it fun.

What do you do to keep your riding and your career fun and to not get burned out? Going back and forth between the boat and cable is awesome. Spending the holidays in Canada in the snow is a great way to take a step back and disconnect for a couple of weeks. It actually makes you miss wakeboarding and helps you want it more when you get back!
