Redbull | Steel Lafferty performs narrowest tricks at Siete Tazas

Steel Lafferty from the RedBull team – American attempts huge jumps at stunning Siete Tazas rock pools in Chile. Steel is well known for breaking new ground in the wakeboarding world and here is his new project in Chile.

The American, his trusted team and climbers worked to set up a daunting run comprising seven waterfalls and seven jumps including breathtaking drops of seven and eight metres.

“It was a very crazy idea and very difficult to make. I think it was the most complicated place I had ever been.”

Many hours finding natural anchors such as rocks and trees to rig up the tow line that helped propel him down the incredible run.

“There is this huge glacier up in the mountains and when it melts it creates this beautiful formation of waterfalls that we can attempt some crazy stuff on.”

“The final jump was like dropping out of the sky. That feeling you get in a rollercoaster. I will come back hopefully in the next few years and conquer it.”

Three days without amenities, facilities or even a phone signal, Lafferty was the first wakeboarder to land a wake to wake 1080 and a toeside backside 900 off a double up.

Chile has been chosen as the best country in the world to practice adventure tourism.
