WAKESKATE SESSIONS on the words of Daniel GRANT

I hope you have all enjoyed #10yearsofTao, it’s surely been an adventure for me, with so many great experiences, which would never have been possible without the support from my sponsors. Rip Curl International in particular have played a big part in the last 10 years, initially supporting me as a 11 year old GROM with podium incentives. From 2015 they also financially supported most of my video projects. Without the support of Rip Curl, almost all of my projects would not have happened. At the start of this year, Rip Curl International decided that they can no longer support me, as they concentrate their marketing budget on Surf.

That decision was made, after I had already planned my 2020 season projects. This happened before the global impact of Covid-19. One project was a winch trip in Sri Lanka. I already flew to Sri Lanka and found many unique spots, but sadly have had to cancel this project for the time being. Ten Years of TAO, Podiums and SK8, for 2020, I still committed to. I had already asked Andy before Rip Curl International dropped me.

I wanted to end my 10 year journey, celebrating with something special and finishing with a bang ! Without support from Rip Curl International, the following edits would not have been possible.

will be discussing with them, on a case by case basis about potential local projects and hope while I am more locally based, I can help grow the sport in this region. Thank You everyone who has supported and helped me thoughout the years! As we say goodbye to the last 10 years, I look forward to what the next 10 will bring. The past 10 years have been absolutely Surreal,like looking back to when i’d fly to over 30 contests a year i’d literally be non Stop. I’ve met some really amazing people from all over the world, it’s really been the best 10 years of my Life, i can’t thank everyone and the sport enough for the opportunity and support to express myself on the water .

It’s been a decade full of experiences , learning, laughing, crying, screaming, it’s been one hell of a ride
