The European WakeSurf Cup at FISE World Series Budapest 2017 was the first event of the series to ever take place in Budapest, Hungary. This Gold level wakesurfing event, part of the World Series of wakesurfing, took place last weekend and allowed all riders to get their points for the World Series rating to be qualified for the September 2017 event. The Cup offered several riding categories: Amateur riders (beginners), Outlaw riders (semi-professional riders) and Pro riders. Each category was also divided into the type of the boards each rider use: skim or surf.

After 3 full days of surfing on the Danube river, the winners of the Wakesurf European Cup were finally awarded. Men’s pro surfer Sergei Danilov from Russia took first place in the pro men surf category, showing amazing skills and technique on the waves. On the women’s side of things, it’s English surfer Alena Pishchulina who won gold in the Surf Pro Women category, impressing the judges with her inspired, impressive and stylish tricks

Over 35 participants came to the event: Pro and Outlaw riders from the UK, USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Czech Republic and for the first time on tour, from Hungary. Among them are: Julian Cohen, Sebastien Balland, Maximillian Kawlath, Alena Pishchulina, Artem Khalyavin, Sergei Danilov, Robi Chad, Lofti Peiman, Kata Gero and others.

About the 2017  European Wakesurf Cup

Nautique European WakeSurf Tour – Is the biggest wakesurf festival in 2017, held in three cities: Montpellier, France; Russia Moscow; Switzerland.

In 2017 all stops of Nautique European WakeSurf Tour have entered into a series of global wake surfing competitions. By participating in which you earn points in the new system of world rankings. To be listed in the global ranking you need to register and pay a membership fee to the Competitive Wake Surfing Association (CWSA).
